Honoring Elisa Fletcher at the funeral of the church where she got married

Family, friends and mourners gathered to honor Elisa Fletcherlegacy.

About a week after the kindergarten teacher, married and mother of two, was found dead after being kidnapped while running, Fletcher was buried at a funeral at Second Presbyterian Church in Memphis, Tennessee on September 10. It is the same place where I got married Richard Fletcher III In 2014. According to Memphis magazine, the church was also where the couple — who share two young children — first met.

About 300 people, including Fletcher’s parents and husband, attended the service, which was streamed live on the church’s YouTube page, Fox News reported. The service featured chants performed by the Second Presbyterian Church’s choir, including “This is the Little Light of Maine,” while Fletcher was shown in a video clip singing the track to kindergarten students during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Fletcher’s funeral comes a day after hundreds of supporters ran through the streets of Memphis as part of a race to honor the late mother of two.

According to Memphis police, a security video showed Fletcher running on September 2 when someone approached the 34-year-old and forced her into a black GMC Terrain.
