On September 12, the National Safe Transportation Board (NTSB) announced that they had found the wreckage of the seaplane that crashed off Whidbey Island in Washington on September 4. The wreck was discovered approximately 190 feet underwater in Mutini Bay.
Given the water’s depth and current of three to five knots, the National Transportation Safety Board said the “most appropriate recovery tool” would be a remotely operated vehicle.
