“I have imagined this moment for my mom all my life,” Etienne captioned the TikTok video of his mom’s victory on September 12. “We are so proud of you mom! @thesherylleeralph you are the winner!!!! @ivycoco and I are in our seats crying.”
In the clip, Etienne and Ivy Victoria explode with joy when Cheryl’s name is called. The siblings jumped up and down shouting, “Yes mom” and “Oh my God!”
With the historic win, Cheryl became the second black woman to win Best Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series in Emmy history after that. Jackie Harrywho won in 1987 for her role in the sitcom as Sandra Clark 227.
